Greeley Farmers' Market

Happy Spring! As I write this article, it is the first day of spring. Typical northern Colorado weather, cool, sunny and blustery. We had some light rains recently, so things are just starting to green up. In fact, we saw our first crocus blooming in downtown Greeley. The other thing starting to bloom in downtown Greeley is our list of Farmers’ Market vendors.

We have Top Notch Meats bringing the very best beef, pork and chicken. Memphis Ranch bringing excellent bison and fresh eggs. Centennial Cuts bringing their delicious summer sausages. And, then there’s the farmers! Croft Family Farms, Eden Herbs and Flowers and Hoffman Family Farms are all local (Weld County!) families bringing the freshest, most nutritious vegetables available anywhere. Exotic mushrooms from Fungolia Farms and more produce from other local farmers/gardeners. In addition, we will have offerings of dairy, local and specialty honey, honey soaps, lotions and potions, and flowers galore.

And, then there is food you can eat while you listen to live music every Saturday. Breakfast food of homemade scones, brownies, cake, cookies and burritos will fill you up! Selections of specialty coffee will guarantee a wake up. Did I mention the freshest kettle corn you will ever taste? Goodness, so much food every Saturday. Plus, music by some of the most talented musicians around. Kids can partake in fun activities to help them learn about healthy eating at the kid’s booth every week, too.

Last, but not least, every Saturday Weld County Colorado Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer your garden and plant questions, plus let you know what is in season.

Somethin’ for everyone at Greeley’s Farmers’ Market at the depot, every Saturday, May 18th - October 26th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 902 7th Avenue, Greeley. Come for the food, stay for the fun!
